Press Release FAQ.
Q: How do I know if I have a good enough story?
A: It is important to make sure you have the right angle for a press release. AtWords and Pictures we can help you identify the right angle for your release.
Q: If I don't have a good story will you still write the press release?
A: We believe honesty is the best policy. If we really don't think your proposed press release is newsworthy, we will tell you so that you can use your money to promote your business in some other way.
Q: Who will you issue my release to?
A: We will develop a media distribution list especially for your business.
Q: How many journalists will receive my press release?
A: This will depend on the nature of your organisation and press release. If you are offering a very niche or local service/news, for example, your release is likely to go to a smaller list than someone whose press release is on national or international interest.
Q: Will you tell me who my press release is going to?
A: Absolutely. We will send you a copy of the distribution list once we have created it.
Q: Will you give me contact details of journalists?
A: No. This information is kept private.
Q: Will you follow up the release?
A: Our service offers the writing and distribution only. We do not offer a follow up service.
Q: How will I know if my release is published? Will you tell me?
A: At present we do not offer a cutting service, therefore we will only be able to tell you if someone contacts us about the release, or if they contact you. If no one contacts you about the release, this does not necessarily mean that it has not been published, so keep your eye out for it appearing.
Q: Can you guarantee my press release will be published?
A: If only we could! The only person who can do that is the editor of the publication it has been sent to. However, professional PR from Words & Pictures gives you a better chance of having your release published, it is not however a guarantee.
